Embodying Visual Culture. A Multidisciplinary Inquiry

Ruggero Eugeni will take part into Embodying Visual Culture conference held at the University of Palermo with the paper As Time Goes By: A Neurofilmological Approach to Temporal and Rhythmical Dimensions of Audiovisual Experience.

The international conference explores the relationship between embodiment and visual culture. It is organized by Michele Cometa, professor of Visual Culture at the University of Palermo, and Vittorio Gallese, professor of Psychobiology and Physiological Psychology at the University of Parma. The event is promoted by the PhD Program in Visual Culture at the University of Palermo coordinated by Roberta Coglitore, and aims to assess the current state of research on the interaction between embodiment and disciplines such as aesthetics, architecture, archaeology, anthropology of art, philosophy, media studies and cognitive neuroscience. The conference seeks to provide accredited participants with a forum for discussion on the latest developments in cognitive neuroscience as applied to visual culture.
